The past couple days i’ve redeemed the time listening to a series of three talks Gordon Fee presented on how to read the Bible. Fee, who is professor of New Testament at Regent College, Vancouver, is widely known for two books he co-authored with Douglas Stuart, How to read the Bible for all its worth and How to read the Bible book by book. These two are excellent books for anyone who desires to read and understand the Bible better, and i heartily recommend them. Read the rest of this entry »
The following is a chorus/refrain i wrote five or six years ago during a challenging sermon series on Acts. It expresses my hope that by the grace of God i will live my life for Christ and His glory, for the future hope we have with Him, and to share this hope with others.
While i have a tune in mind (sorry, but i don’t have the means, voice, or musicality to record it right now!), this is, at the moment, all there is to this song apart from a desire for it to become a meaningful chorus or upbeat hymn and a gratefulness to God for stirring my heart this way.
i will answer the call
i will give You my all
i will count the cost
and consider all else lost
i will fix my eyes on the heavenly prize
i will pass on the flame
i will glorify Your Name
